Carpe Diem (Seize the Day)
In the world of breakfast networking meetings there’s always been a debate as to which is the optimum day of the week to seize, for a meeting.
Monday morning is pretty much ruled out as a day to hold any meeting, never mind a breakfast meeting; as Monday for most business folk is a case of recovering from the weekend and easing oneself back into the working week. Practically speaking, Monday morning can also be quite busy for many people as they catch up with the weekend’s emails and many a team or project meeting is held on a Monday morning.
So it can be said that most business networkers agree that anyone who holds a breakfast meeting on a Monday morning must be making an attempt at the record for the ‘least attended meeting ever’.
Agreed?
So what is the optimum day to hold them? Which day of the week, will perform better when it comes attendance figures, everything else being equal of course?
P.O.E.T.S. Day
Personally, I’m not a great lover of breakfast meetings on a Friday morning. By that time of the week I’m already partially into weekend-mode and am starting to wind down mentally. I’m sure many are like me.
Having said that, there are plenty of business breakfast club meetings which are successfully held on a Friday morning and I’ve been to a few of them in my time. So Friday morning as a networking day, can’t be ruled out.
